Design Principles Iterations
Designing for invariance and continuity in mind. for content clarity
The Principle of continuity is used for the broken navigation pictures even though they are not together they follow a pattern that is assumed. creates a consistent and predictable experience across a product or platform, helping users build familiarity, reduce cognitive load, and navigate more efficiently and confidently.
The principle of Invariance ensures that key elements—such as icons, layouts, or navigation patterns—remain consistent across different contexts, helping users recognize and understand them quickly, which builds trust and reduces confusion. Even though the pie logos are in different arrangements they can be recognized as the same figure but expressed in a more artistic angle

A/B Testing & Validation Testing
Iteration A: Featuring Navigation Page Options
Iteration B: Featuring Hamburger Menu Options
Takeaways from A/B Testing: Increasing the size of the page’s feature buttons (A) increased the knowledge of the main features by 21% of this app, while increasing the drop down menu options size and visibility (B) increased the overall knowledge of the key app features by only 11%
Metrics Met
-
The design and curated features address users' needs by helping them easily discover local events tailored to their interests and providing a single, convenient place to save and manage the events they want to attend.
-
Increase user’s ability to be aware of the navigational features- Overall increasing the rate in which a user navigates to another screen and is able to ultimately use features to sign up for an event
-
41% of users had vocalized during usability testing that they were unsure of the focal features of the app from the initial navigational page
-
Accessibility Additions were added to accommodate people with larger finger sizes and limited touchability . Increasing the size of the filter options creates a design that optimizes the experience for users to be more interactive and and feel included in the design experience
The Accessibility Iteration created a more operable Search Screen. Within the previous screen, users had a difficult time with touchability due to the smaller button size. A more approachable solution was created due to this issue.
